Frequently Asked Questions:

Anti-Stress 2000 1QT 1. What is the difference in Anti-Stress 550 and Anti-Stress 2000?

There is not any difference in the formulation. Anti-Stress 550 is labeled for the Agricultural market and packaged in 2.5 gallon jugs, 30 and 55 gallon drums. Anti-Stress 2000 is labeled for the horticultural market and packaged in ready-to-use quarts for retail markets, 1 quart and 1 gallon concentrate. Both may be used interchangeably. Anti-Stress is non-toxic and does not require reporting by EPA or the State of California.

2. Will Anti-Stress allow the plant to breathe?

YES! Research literature continually finds the elastic membrane properties allows normal transpiration and photosynthesis while restricting moisture loss and increasing plant quality which generally enhances production.

3. How is Anti-Stress Applied?

Anti-Stress is applied as a foliar spray. Always water plants thoroughly before spraying with Anti-Stress. All types of sprayers may be used including trigger, backpack and field or orchard sprayers. Sufficient sprayer pressure should be used to completely coat the upper and lower leaf surfaces. It is essential that the underside of the leaf surface be covered completely to retain moisture. Positive results have not been obtained with application by fixed wing aircraft. It is believed this is due to the inability to coat the total leaf surface, especially the underside of the leaf.

4. How long is Anti-Stress effective on the plant?

The coating will remain on the plant approximately 45-60 days dependent on the rate of plant growth, application rate and weather conditions. Excessive rains may increase break down of the film. For effectiveness on transplants and other vegetating plants, re-spray with 30% new growth. This may be increased when exposed to frost conditions. There is not any evidence of damage when Anti-Stress is applied several time as sudden temperature changes create new growth with frosty nights.
The protective film becomes effective when the product has dried on the plant. The drying time of Anti-Stress is the same as water in the identical weather conditions. For protection during periods of frost and freeze, it is especially important that plants be sprayed and the film completely dried prior to the frost. It will be effective once dry.

Shatter-Proof Concentrate - Small 5. How many degrees of protection can be expected with Anti-Stress in freezing conditions?

Generally 4 to 8 degrees of protection can be expected below the tolerance of the particular plant. This can vary greatly dependent on the condition of the plant and the exposure time to the freeze. The dilution rate of Anti-Stress will also greatly affect this. The heavier the dilution rate, the greater protection has been found.

6. What is the best application rate for Anti-Stress?

Anti-Stress contains 44% active ingredients (solids). The concentrated product is diluted with water to make the most economical and effective coating for particular application and stress need. Dilution rates may vary from 20:1 up to 100:1 (Twenty parts water (20:1) to one part concentrate Anti-Stress or 1 gallon Anti-Stress to 100 gallons water (1:100.) The higher dilution rates are generally used with mature citrus or fruit trees with lots of foliage and field sprayers with high pressure capacity which provides excellent coverage to the total leaf surface. Transplants and more sensitive tropical plants are generally sprayed with lower dilution rates. Dilution rates may vary depending on the sensitivity of the plant and the severity of the stress. The less water used to dilute the film the more effective will be the coverage and protection of the plant. Two sprays of Anti-Stress provide better spray coverage than one.

7. Can Anti-Stress be mixed with other chemicals?

Anti-Stress is compatible with most chemicals except calcium and magnesium, or any product with a pH below 6. Mixing with other chemicals is not recommended as Anti-Stress will enhance the properties of those materials and extend the life of most fertilizers or other chemicals on the plant.

8. Can other materials be applied to plants treated with Anti-Stress?

The semi-permeable characteristics of Anti-Stress on the leaf surface permits other materials to be applied with excellent results.

9. When using Anti-Stress is an additional sticker needed?

The film characteristics of Anti-Stress make it an excellent sticker. No additional sticker is needed. To use as a sticker use 1 pint to 100 gallons water for sticker purposes only

10. Are there plants or crops on which Anti-Stress should not be used?

Anti-Stress has been used extensively for 15 years on most crops, plants, transplants, cutting, bareroot and in many areas of tissue culture with amazing success. In trials where there is limited stress, the comparative results of a treated plant with the control is often less evident.
